Religion scholarships

Samuel and Mabel Danford Scholarship in Religious Studies (February 1 deadline)

The Samuel and Mabel Danford Scholarship in Religious Studies Fund is a fund created by Robert and Virginia Toulouse in honor of Samuel and Mabel Danford, Mrs. Virginia Toulouse's parents, to provide scholarships for undergraduate students in the Religious Studies Program at the University of North Texas in the Department of Philosophy and Religion. The scholarship of $1,000 is awarded to one student every Fall term. Inquiries concerning the scholarship should be directed to philosophy@unt.edu.

To be eligible the student must:

Be a full-time student at the University of North Texas, unless the student is nearing completion of his or her degree program and does not need full-time enrollment;

Have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better at the university; and,

Be enrolled as a full-time student in Religious Studies in the Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies, having completed at least 60 credit hours of coursework.

The scholar is selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Department of Philosophy and Religion. The winner will be honored on Honors Day in the following April of the academic year.
